You have to like Hidden Valley. When I get there its mile 15 and I turn back. I did about 9 miles near Huntington Beach. Upper trail is about 18 miles one way. From there, its a mile leg to the midpoint of the Santa Ana trail. Owner Andrea is very bicycle friendly but tells me she can't advertise near the trail so keep your eyes peeled. The bikies cross on the bridge to the Costa Mesa side for more blacktop that will take them eight miles up to the Riverview Bridge in Sana Ana, where they cross back again. Some nice homes up there on the slope. The trail was in good condition. Put your feet up and enjoy. There is a linear park along PCH on the ocean side with four parking lots (metered, $1.50/hr.) This is the southern half of the Santa Ana River Bikeway - the longest and best off-road cycling route in the Los Angeles area.
