The Corky Curtis Trail is dedicated to Colin Corky Curtis who served the Village of Sussex for 41 years in many roles, most notably as fire chief. The trail is well marked and drivers were super courteous about stopping when I needed to cross. Started warm, ended up hot, temperature 79 to 87 full sun. It was a beautiful fall day, and was perfect for biking with a temperature around 65 degrees. We just rode the length of the Bugline on Sunday, so there were many people using it, including families. It's a well-kept, smooth blacktop trail that runs through woods, small towns and scenic woodlands. The Fox River Trail is a 3.5-mile connector trail between the City of Pewaukee and the City of Brookfield. The Bugline Trail is a paved 15.6-mile (25.1km) rail trail located on the former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) right-of-way in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. You'll cross over another road, under an overpass, and then over an old railroad tressel to continue on to the small village of Lannon. It's a very relaxing ride-can stop at Lannon Park along the way or go to Sussex-Merton. If you want a shorter ride, start in Sussex (midpoint) and take it either direction. A look down into the quarries from the trail is an impressive sight. It was good to see where Lannon stone comes from as we passed the quarry. Winnequah Park. There are signs along the finished segments of the Trail. Grab a creamy cone for a sweet end to your journey, or continue westward through Fireman's Park and Pollworth Park, where youll find picnic tables, a playground, and restrooms. I got on by the Costco in Men Falls and the trail ends in a neighborhood with no signage.
